Chocolate calientito

Mexican Hot Chocolate




Have you ever had this?

If not, yes you are missing out but don't you worry its super easy to make! 

We love to use Ibarra but we couldn't find any in Utah County so we used the ABUELITA brand. You can find this at your local grocery store. We bought a big thing of it at COSTCO!

What you need:

  • Abuelita chocolate bar ( 1 tablet)
  • 4 cups of milk
  • A whisk or molinillo 

In a pot heat your milk and after 2 minutes or so place the chocolate tablet in the center and start whisking. Avoid burning the chocolate and milk by lowering the heat. whisk till all the chocolate has melted and you form a froth on top.



How to use a Molinillo:
place whisk in between palms and rotate by rubbing palms together. 


Best served with some kind of sweet bread.
